Summer Under Heaven

My name is Sam Rosenberg and my Chinese name is SÄ«mÇŽ Dōngfāng (我的中文名字叫司马东方). Summer Under Heaven is a travelblog, originally intended as a diary and chronicle of my experiences in Beijing, China over the summer of 2006, where I spent three months studying Mandarin at Peking University (北京大学). Unfortunately life intervened and I didn’t maintain the site as I had intended, so I’m re-imagining this blog as a retrospective look back at my time in Beijing, largely through photos. A companion to my flickr site, Summer Under Heaven will include additional commentary and introspection for those interested in that sort of thing - admittedly, I’m not expecting a large audience. I am currently studying Chinese history and East Asian languages & literature at McGill university in Montreal, Canada.
